To sea duck hunt, we will go to the open water of Pamlico Sound. There are a large number of sea ducks that come to winter in this location. We specialize in duck hunting for Surf Scoters, Black Scoters and the occasional but magnificent Old Squaw.

Weather permitting we hunt from floating blinds we also have stake blinds for windy days. These blinds accommodate three hunters and their gear comfortably. When we reach our hunting destination the hunting blind is anchored into position along with 80 to 120 decoys. Your guide is in constant contact with you from the tender boat 500 yards away by VHF radio.

On your duck hunt with us you will need a 12 gauge or larger shotgun, preferably with 3" steel #2 magnum or larger shells. Anything smaller only cripples the waterfowl. They are really tough birds and are hard to hit.

Recommended Gear for your North Carolina Waterfowl Hunt:

Camouflage clothes and gloves
Rain gear
Regular boots, waders or hip boots
12 gauge or larger shotgun
3" BB Steel shot shells for swan
3" #2 Steel shot shells for sea ducks
And of course your camera

Swan Hunting

For swan hunting Jennettes Guide Service to the fields around the world re- known Lake Mattamuskeet. There swans fly daily from the lake to surrounding grain fields to feed and sleep iin and around Lake Mattamuskeet.

The swan hunting blinds are made to accommodate up to three waterfowl hunters and their guide comfortably. The swan decoys are shells and big foot decoys. Each decoy set includes anywhere from 40 to 80 swan decoys on all sides of the blind. Swan hunting here in North Carolina is excellent since Lake Mattamuskeet is the largest wintering base for swans on the Atlantic Flyway.

Still 100% success on trophy swans. We have held this, since the opening season in 1984.
