Tadpole Gibbs is an excellent guide for swan and sea ducks. He was committed to providing my son, and I with enjoyable and successful hunting experiences. The swan is an awesome waterfront trophy, and Tadpole will make sure you can collect one.

I’ve hunted with Teddy “Tadpole” Gibbs for t he past two years. I’ve hunted with others in North Carolina, but if you want to hunt with the best you need to hunt with Teddy. Two years ago we shot very mature trophy Swans by 8: 30am. The second day we sea duck hunted. The two of us shot our limit of Surf and Black Scoters by 10:30am. The third day we also sea duck hunted and shot our limits of sea ducks by 8:20am. Last years we only had time to Swan hunt the 17th of December. We both shot our trophy swans in the morning. Teddy is a very dedicated guide and he will give you 110%. If he doesn’t out you on t he birds, no one will.

I had occasion to hunt with Teddy Gibbs in January 2009 for both Sea Ducks and Tundra Swans. Both hunts were outstanding. If the was a complaint, it was the shoots went all way too fast. The Sea Ducks were hunted from a comfortable, large blind towed by his big boat out into the Sound. I didn’t know you could flag for ducks but it was done and was quite efficient. Amazing! Slots were all around the blind allowing one to observe the approaching birds without being seen until time to shoot.

The swan hunt took place on a very large harvested field near his residence. The blind was a platform, well hidden by Willow cuttings down in a ditch. A hundred or more whole body Swan decoys were placed on both sides of the ditch. Decoy placement took a lot longer the hunt itself.
Mr. Gibbs took excellent care of both the Sea Ducks I wanted for my collection and of the Swan I got. He made sure all the rules and regulation (tags, permits, signatures, etc) were observed so there was no problem returning with the specimens.

Housing was provided in a clean, warm motel where he picked me up each morning in plenty of time. Meals were at local cafes or restaurants and of high quality and reasonably priced.

Finally, I am 70 yeas old and I have difficulty in getting around (arthritis) but he went out of his way to make sure I was comfortable and without pain. The hunts all involved very short walks.

I can be reached at larganglejr@exchangenet.net or 541-754-2368.I have hunted 23 countries and with more than 40 outfitters and this guy is one of the better ones.
